Unlike the previous list, this list will contain 15 albums. This is solely because 2008 has been nothing but music for me, most of it being old stuff that I had never heard and classics that I had skipped across.
As seems the case with a lot of older albums, they tend to be more consistent as a 'block' of music, as opposed to having one or two blindingly outstanding tracks, this being the reason that I could keep the best songs list down to 10.
The same rules apply to this list as the previous one:
-Albums that you only heard this year, the release date DOES NOT have to be 2008.
-Any genre!
Once again, please get involved, it's always good getting some interesting discussion going on.
It doesn't matter if you have or haven't commented before. You don't need to know me/any of the other regular people who comment to get involved!
Here goes, and again in no particular order:
Quietdrive, Deliverance
Nas, Illmatic
Kid Cudi, A Kid Named Cudi Mixtape
Lil' Wayne, The Leak EP/Mixtape
Lloyd, Lessons In Love
The-Dream, Love Hate
Eric B. and Rakim, Paid In Full
Jay-Z, Reasonable Doubt
Wale, Hate is the New Love Mixtape
N.E.R.D., Seeing Sounds
Sway, The Signature LP
Lloyd, Street Love
Sean Garrett, Turbo 919
Kanye West, 808s and Heartbreak
Fall Out Boy, Folie a Deux
By request, I will be posting up a list of my favourite 'songs to hear in a club' of 2008. If there are any other "top 10/15's" that you would like to see on here, let me know.

WHAT, you only just heard reasonable doubt and illmatic this year? i ought to punch your whoreish face.
only joking, better late than never eh? :) will compile my list tomorrow x
you need to send me seeing sounds! Also i think you should do movies of 2008?
Yep, I do deserve a punch in the ovaries. Straight shot, right to the babymaker.
You'd be surprised at the amount of people I know who haven't heard either. I felt ashamed to have fallen into that category-I have now seen the light.
Jat-I've probably only seen 10 films this year, and 9 of them had Will Ferrell in them.
The other was The Dark Knight.
:)
There's some potential for J Dilla-Donuts to make a late break for this list. Such a class instrumental album, pure neo-soul.
wat about the carter 3????
top 5 in no particular oder (cuz i carnt decide)
N.E.R.D - Seeing sound
Kanye West - 808 & heartbreak
lil Wayne - carter 3
Lupe - The Cool
Lloyd - Street Love
The Cool I had in 07, so I can't count that.
Carter 3-I'm not entirely convinced it's better than anything I listed. I prefer The Leak Mixtape and Da Drought 3 over it to be honest. It would probably be number 16, it didn't miss out by much. There's just a few tracks I don't like on there.
As rap albums go, it isn't on the level of Reasonable Doubt, Illmatic or any of the other rap discs listed.
I think Sway's album only just beats it purely on the fact that Sway tells some stories on his tracks and they have a meaning. Wayne is too much wordplay and one liners. A Milli, as great as it is, is just a collection of assorted lines. Quality tune though.
As I have sod all else to do:
Boys Like Girls- Boys Like Girls
All Time Low- Put Up, Shut Up EP
The Ataris- So Long, Astoria
You Me At Six- Take Off Your Colours
We The Kings- We The Kings
The Academy Is...- Almost Here
Editors- An End Has A Start
Dropout Year- On A Lighter Note EP
Run Kid Run- Love At The Core
Dashboard Confessional- MTV2 Unplugged (Live)
Farewell- Isn't This Supposed To Be Fun?
Metro Station- The Questions We Ask At Night
The Summer Obsession- The Is Where You Belong
Probably a few more.
Isn't most of the stuff from that Metro Station EP on the album? It's a good album tbf.
We The Kings was in my top 20, not quite top 15 material though.
My bad, looked in my winamp to see what the ablum was called, and overlooked that it was self titled. I meant the full album.
here is my list, there wasn't that many great albums this year in my opinion, probably only say about 2-3 that i'd consider brilliant. not like the old days :( so i'll just list albums that i personally liked, regardless of whether they're classics, or not -in no particular order:
Plies - Da Realist
